Top 5 Tips For New Drivers

Be Mindful. Be Safe. Be Aware.

As a NEW driver, you should begin to grasp and understand the greatest responsibility you have behind the wheel is the safety for self, and the safety of everyone travelling in your car. It is recommended you do NOT carry passengers for the FIRST 3 - 6 Months of passing your test. Stay Alert, Anticipate, Hazards, and remember that your skills and decision-making matter most when Unexpected situations arise. Your goal is always to get everyone travelling with you to their destination Safely.

Keep Learning After You Pass

Passing your practical test is a big achievement, but it’s only the beginning. After you pass, consider asking your driving instructor for extra lessons to build experience in motorway driving, country lanes, night driving, and driving in bad weather (such as rain or snow). These skills can be life-saving and will help you feel calmer and more in control behind the wheel.

Take Your Time — Confidence Comes First

Give yourself time to adjust to driving on your own. In the early days, limit distractions, avoid carrying lots of passengers, focus on building confidence and awareness. Passengers can be distracting, so it’s important to feel comfortable driving independently before taking on extra responsibility. Put Safety and Responsibility First
